Charity Bowls winners Purtle Electrical and their support crew.

After 6 weeks of wonderful friendship, magnificent weather, and intriguing contests all 80 players and support staff gathered in the clubhouse for drinks, supper and the presentations.

Vice President of YMGCR Gil Cunningham and Bowls President Marie Whitehead presented cheques to the various teams and the charities they represented.  

Honorable Award Winner –Wanani 2, $100 to Friends in Common.

Best Week 1 – Green Keepers, $100 to Yarrawonga Health.

Best Week 2 – Tom’s Mob, $100 to Friends in Common.

Best Week 3 – Bree’s Beauties, $100 to Friends in Common.

Best Week 4 – Rotary, $100 to Girl Guides Vic.

The following teams were the sectional winners.

Winner Section 3A – Woodies, $225 to Friends in Common.

Winner Section 3B – SAID, $225 to Friends in Common.

Winner Section 2 – Insiders, $225 to Made With Love Chemo Turban Project.

Winner Section 1 – Purtles Electrical, $225 to Yarra Mul Men’s Shed.

Many thanks and praise from all quarters goes to Peter Lidgerwood, who spent hours gathering teams and organizing the event. Peter was ably assisted by his team of helpers, Ray ‘Bottle-o’ Brown, President Marie, Bob Tett, Ben Nowell and Les Balfour.

A special thanks goes to the Board of YMGCR for their generous donation to local charities as well as giving everyone a chance to enjoy the game of bowls.
