The AFL Bombers flew into Yarrawonga airport on Tuesday to visit local schools in the area.
Among the players was young rookie Jake Long who proudly told Sacred Heart Primary School students that his uncle, Chris, was a premiership player for the Yarrawonga Pigeons in 1989 and heard that Chris liked spending a “lot of time in front of the goals”. Chris kicked four goals in the drought breaking premiership win.
Jake is the son of champion Bombers player Michael Long.
Other players to attend the school was 127 game champion defender Michael Hurley, dangerous small forward Orazio Fantasia, solid defender Matt Dea, 2016 AFL number one AFL draft selection Andrew McGrath, Sam Draper and Josh Begley.
Students had many questions for the players and later had the opportunity to shake hands and receive autographs from the players.
