Volunteer Recognition Awards are to be introduced by Federation Council as part of Volunteer Week 2017 celebrations, with nominations to close on June 23 and a presentation/thank you event in July.
Council’s Director Corporate and Corporate and Community Services Kristy Kay said council was excited to launch the volunteer awards and celebrations as part of Volunteer Week 2017 celebrations.
“The Volunteer Recognition Awards is proposed to be an annual celebration where local clubs, organisations, groups or individuals can nominate their volunteers to receive an award and attend a ‘thank you’ event in July,” she said.
“There is no limit as to the number of these wonderful people to be nominated. Council will be writing to community groups about this.
“It provides a great opportunity for council to say thanks to the many volunteers who help make our communities stronger and let them know their efforts and commitments are appreciated.”
Nominated volunteers will be invited the awards celebration and receive formal recognition of their outstanding work.
Nomination Forms are available from council’s website federationcouncil.nsw.gov.au and are open until 5pm, Friday, June 23 or from council’s agencies throughout Federation Council.
