Guests enjoyed a great morning while raising money for the cancer council.

More than $1300 was donated directly to the Cancer Council for research and cancer support thanks to the efforts of all who attended the Burkes Hotel Biggest Morning Tea recently.

The event was organised by Michelle Gardner and Stephen Holmes with more than 65 people enjoying the morning and each asked to make a donation of their choice to attend.

Guests enjoyed a morning tea of sandwiches, scones, slices, cakes and muffins, washed down with plenty of cups of tea and coffee.

There were raffles held throughout the morning, thanks to the generous donations of local businesses, and Stephen spoke to the group about how cancer touches everyone’s lives and how great everyone at Burkes Hotel felt to see such support for the event.

The morning raised an impressive $1366 – all to be donated directly to the Cancer Council.

The team at Burkes Hotel thank the following businesses for their generous support: Midland Fresh, Judds Mensland, Target, Houghtons, Fresh Décor, Rutherglen Estates, Ariya Massage, Imperial Hands Massage, Blooms and Cruise Yarrawonga Mulwala.

Special thanks also to Margaret for bringing in lovely tea cups to use and staff Karen and Vanessa who donated their time to help out on the day.
