Driver critical after single vehicle accident

The driver had to be cut out of the vehicle by SES volunteers.

A 30 year old Tungamah man has been airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital after rolling his car in a single vehicle accident on Saturday evening.

Leading Snr Cst Shaun Tanner said around 7.55pm the man was driving his car west along the Murray Valley Highway towards Yarrawonga when the he lost control of the vehicle going around the bend near Botts Road.

“As he rounded the bend the car skidded to the left of the road and then rolled,” he said.

“Ambulance, CFA, SES and police all attended the scene with SES volunteers cutting the man from the vehicle.

“He was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital and is currently still in intensive care.”

Investigations are continuing into this incident.
