The Savernake community gathered at the Savernake Hall to host a morning tea in support of the Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser.

Around 40 people enjoyed a lovely morning tea provided by the hall committee and friends raising more than $500 for the Cancer Council.

This was the first time the community held an event in the hall’s warm supper room, after split system air conditioning units were installed from funding received from Federation Shire.

The organisers would like to thank all members of the Savernake area, family and friends who came and supported the morning tea.

It was a pleasure to welcome back many former residents of Savernake, who have now retired into Yarrawonga. They were most impressed at the renovations over recent years to the hall, and spent much time reminiscing about how they used to provide suppers for balls under tarpaulins out the back of the building.

A raffle was also held, with donations of a lino print by Andrea Patford Photography and a massage by Vanessa Sandral from Belle FemmeNess Beauty Salon.
