Parents, teachers, carers and community members wanting to tackle the impact of the drug ice on the local community are encouraged to attend a ‘Think Twice About Ice’ public forum in Yarrawonga on Tuesday, June 27.
Moira Shire Council Mayor Cr Gary Cleveland said an expert panel, including a past ice user, would provide information about the effects and risks of methamphetamine, the extent of the problem, along with support and treatment options.
“Regional communities have a long tradition of working together to tackle big issues,” Mayor Cleveland said.
“Our ice information forums are an opportunity for us to learn more about the growing ice issue and develop a whole of community response.”
The forums are funded by Community Ice Action Grants from the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Yarrawonga ‘Think Twice’ forum will be held at the Yarrawonga Town Hall on Tuesday, June 27 beginning at 6.30pm.
