The Lions Club of Yarrawonga 2017 Board

The Lions Club of Yarrawonga held its 52nd Annual Changeover Dinner at Burkes Hotel recently.

Lion Cabinet members, visiting Lions, guests and Yarrawonga Lions and their families enjoyed an evening of fellowship, presentations and induction of the new Board.

The night was highlighted by the presentation of a 50 Year Service Medal to Bill Monahan, a Life Member of the Club, by V6 District Lions Foundation Chairman and Past District Governor Lyn Fredericks.

A Chevron badge was presented to Ollie Tufvesson for 20 years of service and Denis Griffiths and Rob Glover were presented with their Chris August Pins by District Governor Peter Poels.

DG Peter also presented Club Secretary Liz Ornsby with Banner Patch.

Ollie Tufvesson thanked everyone for their support during the past year.

Outgoing President Doug Wilson addressed the gathering and presented appreciation certificates to Jock McDonald, Ron Stone and Rod Riding for Outstanding and Dedicated Services to the Club.

V6 District Lions Foundation Chairman and Past District Governor Lyn Fredericks oversaw the induction of the office bearers; President Doug Rankin, Secretary Liz Ornsby, Assistant Secretary and Tail Twister John Weinart, Treasurer Jock McDonald, Vice President Doug Wilson, Immediate Past President and Membership Chairman Ollie Tufvesson, Lion Tamer and 1st Year Director Denis Griffiths, 2nd Year Director Debbie Van Corler.

President Doug Rankin outlined his plans and expectations for the forthcoming year highlighting membership growth, formation of a Leo's Club, 2019 Convention and a formalisation of the Centennial Project.

Fines, an auction and the drawing of the raffle followed with MC John Weinart overseeing the conclusion of a very enjoyable evening.
