Bands set to battle it out

Yarrawonga’s Jake Willett will perform at the Battle of the Bands in Cobram on Saturday night.

Local musicians will take to the stage in Cobram on Saturday for the Freeza PushStart Battle of the Bands.

Entrants from across the region will battle it out for a spot in the Push Start Band Competition Regional Final and $500 in prizes.
The event was held in Yarrawonga last year and this year will rock the Cobram Civic Centre from 6pm to 10pm on Saturday.
Special guest performers are blues/rock four-piece from NSW – The Vanns and the event will also feature last year’s heat winner Squid Doctors.
This year’s line-up of contestants includes; The Delirious (Cobram, Numurkah), River Loizou (Cobram), Compromise (Cobram), Vicious Rumours (Shepparton) and Yarrawonga’s own Jake Willett.
Supported by the Moira Shire Youth Team, there will be a free bus service running to the event.
The bus will pick up in Yarrawonga at 5.20pm and return at 10.30pm. Bookings for the bus are essential, please call 5871 9222 or text name and town for bus pick up to 0439 346 693.
Entry costs $5, the event is drug and alcohol free and there are no pass-outs.
Anyone aged 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.
