Public speaking regional finalists

Smiles all round from the finalists in the Lions Junior Public Speaking competition.

The regional final for Lions District 6 and 7 of the Junior Public Speaking was hosted by the Yarrawonga Lions, at the Yarrawonga Yacht Club on Sunday recently.

Regional finalists in the 3/4 grade section were; Rhani Hendry from Strathmerton, Mitchell McPherson from Katamatite, Annabelle Mathews from Mulwala, Felicity Talbot from Rutherglen, Max Harvey from Corowa  and Dimity Connell from Yarrawonga.
For the grades 5/6 the finalists were; Hannah Logie from Strathmerton, Miranda Eddy from Katamatite, Paige Duffy from Yarrawonga, Olivia Cheesman from Rutherglen and Tegan Forge from Corowa.
All contestants kept their family and friends engrossed with their presentations and no doubt proud of the endeavour that was made by each one.
MC for the day was Les Harrison and judges were Peter Poels, Jo McCarthy and Dorothy Cole.
Results
Grades 3 and 4: winner Felicity Talbot of Rutherglen and runner-up Rhani Hendry of Strathmerton.
Grades 5 and 6: winner Paige Duffy of Yarrawonga runner-up Tegan Forge of Corowa.
The Lions Clubs appreciates the dedication and effort made by the school teachers, parents and the children to make this competition so successful.
Congratulations goes to all contestants and best wishes to the winners for the zone final to be held in Tongala on Sunday, August 27.
