Yarrawonga gymnast Isobel Osborne competed with the Benalla Demons team at the inaugural AMCO TeamGym Victorian Championships in August.
TeamGym has been developed by Gymnastics Victoria to provide a pathway for recreational and elite gymnasts. The path is open all the way to top international TeamGym competitions in Europe.
TeamGym incorporates floor, tumbling and single mini-tramp in a team competition.
Gymnasts compete in teams of 6 to 12 participants to showcase their skills in a group performance.
All three apparatus are performed to music making it an exciting and engaging competition for spectators and teams.
The Benalla Demons were very competitive, achieving an equal second for their floor routine, third in tumbling and finishing with an overall ranking of third.
Nicole Briggs and Kaitlyn Hocking, their coaches, were extremely proud of the effort put in by the girls and their results in the level 2 competition.
The Benalla Demons consisted of Holly Morrison (captain), Georgie Morrison, Emily Sims, Anna Howell, Maddison Mailer, Sophie Boyle, Zoe Liddington, Jazmine Blyss, Sarah Neilson and Yarrawonga’s Isobel Osborne who travels from Yarrawonga twice a week for training in Benalla.
