The town bus provided by Yarrawonga Taxis has added a new stop at the Bunnings complex on the Murray Valley Highway.

There will be a local bus leaving from the centre of town at the bus stop in Orr Street and heading out to Bunnings for members of the public to do their shopping at the store.
Bunnings is the focal shopping point for the new area east of Yarrawonga as it starts to develop.
Although provided by the Yarrawonga Taxis service the bus runs under the banner of Public Transport Victoria.
Spokesperson for Public Transport Victoria John Lindsay said the organisation tries to accommodate for all people needing to use one of their bus services as means of transport.
“PTV is making it easier for Yarrawonga residents to get where they need to go and to get their shopping done,” John said.
“We’ve listened to the local community and have introduced a new bus stop outside Bunnings Warehouse.”
Public Transport Victoria also noted they consider requests from the operator or community for additional stops within the service coverage area.
This means there are possible plans to expand the service if the area heading out east develops further.
Yarrawonga Taxis manager Daryl Howard said the new bus stop was the most logical place to put a stop as the growth of the town is heading out to the east where Bunnings is located.
“It’s just a natural progression. We didn’t have a service currently out that way and in the future more businesses will be out there so it seemed logical to start a bus run now,” Daryl said.
“With the growth of the town we had to cater for the needs of the community.”
The bus will run six daily trips leaving from Orr Street and arriving at bus stop 73 with the possibility of a second stop being introduced.
Times for the service for Monday to Friday are 8.50am, 10.20am (from Mulwala), 11.50am, 1.20pm, 2.20pm and 3.50pm.
Saturdays services are 8.50am, 10.20am and 11.50am.
Daryl said it was a good thing for the community and would allow people previously unable to get out that way to now go and do some shopping.
“A few people had mentioned to me about having a way out there and now they do at times that are convenient with peak times for people wanting to shop,” Daryl said.
Patrons should be aware they can book anytime up until 10 minutes prior to departure by calling 5743 2111.
