The under 16 boys took on City Colts White at Vic Park Saturday morning with Colts winning the toss and electing to field.

Sam Willett and first-year player Zac Banch opened the batting, getting the team off to a good start.

The hard-hitting vice-captain in Willett quickly raced to 13 before being dismissed bringing Max Hemphill to the crease.

Little Banchy and Maxy tore the colts bowling line up apart putting on 60 runs before Banch was dismissed for 29 - a great effort from Zac .

Shortly after Max was retired on 30 with a great knock.

Captain Will Sharp and Angus Heslin came to the crease but Will was dismissed leg before for 6.

Reece Norman made his way out and he and Gus got the final score to 4/105 off 21 overs.

Captain Sharp and the lanky Gus Heslin opened the bowling and it wasn't long until Gus had his first wicket for the season with little Banchy taking a screamer with a full dive to his right at cover.

Gus took another 3 balls later with a cool and calm one-handed caught and bowled; great figures for Gus with 2/0 off his 3 overs.

Halfway through the Colts innings Sharp called on his spinners in Hemphill and the very talkative Tom Kennedy.

With Hemphill taking 1/8 off his 3 overs and the best leg spinner in the Kennedy family in Tom taking 2/6 off his 3 overs.

Josh Ednie chimed in with a wicket for himself as well with Hemphill taking a nice catch at slip.

The Colts finished 7/50 off their 21 overs.

Great start by the boys in what looks like a good season ahead.
