'A gentle 3-wood' from the second tee-stand on the Lake Course at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort resulted in Max Fraser's first ever hole-in-one, on Thursday, October 5.
"With bunkers both sides of the green, I was thinking: 'Just go straight Max'. It landed short of the green, bounced up and rolled straight in," he told the Yarrawonga Chronicle of his approximate 135m shot.
"I was very ecstatic, one of those things you don't believe you've done."
After retiring in the logistics field of a lighting company in Melbourne, Max and wife Bernadette moved to Yarrawonga two years ago. Yarrawonga/Mulwala Golf Club Resort is the first club he has joined and he loves his golf.
"I play with a great bunch of blokes, who were all very complimentary of my hole-in-one," the 71-year-old nine-hole golfer off a 14 handicap for the nine-holers said.
