Yarrawonga will host the longest ever quadrathlon in the world this Saturday.
Boasting a total distance of 141km the Murray Quad will see athletes compete over a 3.2km swim, 21.1km half marathon run, 91.5km individual bike time trial and a 25km paddle from Yarrawonga to Tocumwal.
All the action begins at the Yarrawonga Rowing Club with the swim starting at 7am on Lake Mulwala then a half marathon run around the Silverwoods Golf Resort at 8am. Then participants cycle to Cobram where they will then begin their last leg, a paddle down the Murray River to finish at Town Beach in Tocumwal.
To celebrate the accomplishment of all participants there will be an Explore the Murray Family Fun night at the new Bull Bar at the Black Bull Golf Course. The evening will include wood fire pizzas, jumping castle, kid’s games, local tastings and at the same time supporting charity, Channel 4 Change, raising awareness for youth mental health in rural areas.
This is a great opportunity for locals and visitors to come and have a look at this new and exciting facility so pop on down to the Black Bull Golf Course’s Bull Bar on Saturday night from 7.30pm
Online registrations for the Murray Quad are still until Friday. You can enter an individual event if you want to swim, run or paddle on the day with registrations taken from 6am to 6.45am.
