Life Member of Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort Alex MacKenzie has derived much pleasure from coaching and guiding young golfers over the past 23 years and has admired the progress of Ben Casley and Baxter Droop.

Ben, 15, has won the 2017 Alex MacKenzie Junior Champion Trophy with 14-year-old Baxter runner-up. “I see these boys with their bow ties on!” 89-year-old ‘Macca’ told the big crowd at Christmas/Presentation Night.
Macca praised both boys. “Ben, you’re wonderful around the club, very courteous, always giving a greeting - it’s wonderful to see in young people these days. Congratulations to Julie and Shane for your parenting.”
The same words were conveyed in respect to Baxter, and to his parents Rochelle and Evan.
Ben and Baxter spoke well, acknowledging the excellent work in having good golf courses and Pro Shop.
“I’m very proud the club has seen fit to have the Junior Champion Trophy named after me,” Macca said.
“I’ve had a helluva lot of enjoyment over the years starting way back in Jay Ar’s time (1995). We’ve had a wonderful relationship through the years.”
