Two storm related fires occurred in Mulwala on Tuesday evening, December 19, the first at about 7.15pm when an electrical wire came down in Bayley Street causing fire on the side of the road along the Thales fence line.
Fire and Rescue NSW captain, Mulwala Unit Vin Slattery said; “We responded and Thales team also responded and brought it under control.
“It was good the grass along the fence line had been cut (by council),” he said.
There was also another fire on the north side of the channel road, which was attended by the rural service NSW and CFA.
“It was a good response time also and we got it under control quickly,” Captain Slattery told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
