Mulwala Progress Association will host Australia Day at RSL Park, starting at 9.30am.
“There will be a flag raising ceremony, national anthem and a barbecue,” association president Robert Purtle OAM said.
“Everyone is invited to come along and enjoy the company of their Mulwala and district friends, with plenty of shade to combat any hot weather.”
With the first elected Federation Council, this year’s Australia Day celebrations for the Federation Council area are the same as last year, with one town hosting a big day for the whole area, from Urana to Mulwala.
That is where Australia Day awardees for various categories are announced and presentations made.
In the inaugural year, 2017, of Federation Council with Administrator Mike Eden in charge, Urana hosted the event.
This year, Corowa is the venue, starting at 10.00am at Rowers Park, Bridge Road.
“Next year is our turn,” Mr Purtle said, “and we will have the big show run by council, with a guest speaker and all the award recipients.
“But for Friday, January 26, come along and enjoy a barbie and refreshments at our RSL Park.”
