The 2016 Black Ford Ranger found dumped on Tungamah Road.

Mystery surrounds the recovery of a stolen 2016 Black Ford Ranger dumped on the side of the road on Tungamah Road, approximately 7 km north of Tungamah.

The vehicle was stolen in March 2016 from an address in Patterson Lakes, a bayside suburb of Melbourne.
The vehicle was wanted in relation to a pursuit on April 1, 2016 when it was seen leaving an address in Creek View End Wangaratta at about 4.30 pm.
Police from Wangaratta DTU pursued the vehicle to Boweya but the pursuit was terminated due to the dangerous driving.
At the time the vehicle was bearing false plates, 1GM5OU.
Investigators believe the vehicle was in storage in a shed on a rural property in the Tungamah area.
The vehicle had sustained extensive damage.
A 31-year-old male, John Kettyle from Bonbeach was charged in relation to this vehicle and other offences and was sentenced at the Melbourne County Court on December 19 where he received a five-and-a-half-year jail sentence.
He is also connected to the Wangaratta Drug Syndicate run by Jasmine Bourne, a part of Operation KURSK.
Investigators from Wangaratta Divisional Tasking Unit are requesting assistance from the general public if they have any information to contact Wangaratta Police Sergeant McGuffie on 5723 0888 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000.
