A dumped utility with broken windows and no front wheels became a rubbish drop off zone for campers on Bourkes Bend Lane 17km west of Yarrawonga recently.
The Chronicle in the past week received a phone call from a concerned resident after the deserted ute began to accumulate masses of rubbish from campers who had enjoyed the holiday break at Bourkes bend.
A notice by Moira Shire Council adorned the driver’s side window stating the car was an unregistered/ abandoned vehicle that was set to be removed on January 5 but was still causing an eyesore on the side of the Murray Valley Highway almost two weeks later.
Yellow tape from an authority was also strewn across the car with Illegally dumped rubbish written across it.
Both Moira Shire Council and Cobram CIU were contacted on the matter with the utility finally being moved midweek.
Post office boxes damaged
Offenders forced open several post office boxes in the early hours of Monday at the Yarrawonga Australia Post premises in Belmore Street. A bar was located nearby.
Solar panel stolen from campsite
