James McCully (Black Bull), Aaron Brain (BMW Shepparton) and Richard Hogg (YMGCR) beside the brand new BMW X 2. “This is very special,” Principal Dealer Aaron said. “This one is special for this tournament - it’s six weeks prior to its release in Australia.”

“Welcome back! Great to see so many faces return,” key local organiser of the 2018 BMW Shepparton Senior Victorian Open Championship James McCully said at the official opening, at Black Bull Golf Course at Silverwoods last Tuesday evening.

“To players, sponsors, it’s pretty special to see between Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort and ourselves we have three of the best courses along the Murray river.
“We’re lucky to have these courses in our beautiful town.”
James said BMW Shepparton has been the “real backbone” of the tournament with their sponsorship and expressed much appreciation to Shepparton BMW’s Principal Dealer Aaron Brain.
“It’s great to be back on board for a third time,” Aaron said. “We’re very proud to assist with such a great tournament.”
Project Designer Silverwoods, Daniel Smith, told the approximate 250 people at the official welcome/cocktail function at Black Bull Golf Driving Range that Silverwoods “is coming along in leaps and bounds”.
Daniel referred to release of apartments of the big Sebel project ahead of construction is a great sign. “It’s just going to be fantastic - a showcase not only for Yarrawonga but for the region,” he said.
Golfing fans were enthralled at the 85 metre $1,000 Shoot Out by 10 professionals, including our own James McCully.
Steve Conran from Orange, NSW won the event. The 51-year-old loved returning, for his second Shepparton BMW Senior Victorian Open.
“They’re so nice courses here,” he told the Yarrawonga Chronicle. “It’s just a pleasure to play them. You are spoilt here!” The great Peter Senior chipped in: “It’s nice to play quality golf courses. It’s great to be back.”
Other entertainment at the welcome function was provided by Sam Ludeman’s ‘Sam Sam But Different’ trio from Melbourne, with the band’s pop rock, covers and acoustic-feel music again proving popular.
Delicious, tasty finger food and beverages complemented a wonderful welcome to the big, award winning tournament.
