Lakers duo country week success

Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club’s Melbourne Country Week representatives Matt Casey and Angus McMillan.

Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club’s representative campaign continued last week with Matt Casey and Angus McMillan playing for the Wangaratta & District Cricket Association in Melbourne Country Week.

The talented pair were part of the successful Division 3 Champions team, with the final against Gippsland played at Oakleigh.
Casey scored 20 runs in the final while Angus McMillan produced an outstanding bowling performance finishing with 5 for 37 to be awarded Player of the Match.
The WDCA bowled out the opposition for 175 and chased down the runs with six wickets in hand and several overs remaining.
The win sees the end of the representative season for the Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club senior club players and the club can proudly boast three players who represented the WDCA at Bendigo and Melbourne Country Weeks.
YMCC’s representative players included Reid Clarke, Matt Casey and Angus McMillan; five players represented the North East Knights Under 21’s with Matt Casey, Reid Clarke, Angus McMillan, James Irvine and Matt McCabe and two players represent Victoria Country Under 21’s with James Irvine and Matt Casey.
