The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal is without a doubt one of the nation’s largest fundraisers and this year the Yarrawonga region is pulling out all stops to contribute.
The Yarrawonga, Mulwala, Bundalong and Tungamah communities are all set for a bonanza Good Friday with fire brigades making their way around local streets on the day, Central Murray Credit Union staff rattling tins down Belmore Street and the Bundalong Tavern hosting their annual Family Fun Day and Markets.
This year the Bundalong Tavern Good Friday Appeal Family Fun Day and Market will be held on Friday, March 30 from 12pm.
There will be plenty for the kids to see and do with an even larger amount of rides and activities including dodgem cars, merry-go-rounds, jumping castles, pony rides, face painting by Funky Faces and games to entertain.
Live music by Jo and the Gent, raffles, auctions, up to 50 market stalls, fun family races and a bbq with food and beverages available all day are also provided for the adults.
Bundalong Area Manager Keith Allen said he and the Bundalong Tavern crew were always happy to put on this event to raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
“We have been doing it for a few years now and have had great success and a really fun and enjoyable day, so we are more than happy to keep going with it,” Keith said.
“The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal is such a worthwhile cause to raise money for and everybody has either been touched or knows of someone who has had to use the hospital’s services so for us to do something at all to contribute and help out, we are honoured to do it.”
Last year the Bundalong Tavern raised $22,487, placing them in seventh position in the Good Friday Appeal top 10 hotel awards.
All money raised will be donated to the Good Friday Appeal to raise much needed funds for equipment, research and education to support the work of The Royal Children’s Hospital.
A 55-inch Smart TV, materials to build a driveway and an enormous chest of tools are just some of the items that could be yours but if you have any items to donate to be auctioned for this great cause please contact Keith “Kipper” Allen on 0459 020 909.
If you would like to be involved in the day you can book your table for lunch from 12-2pm and dinner from 6-9pm by calling the Bundalong Tavern on 5726 8586.
Make sure to make your way to the tavern for the Good Friday Family Fun Day for a day of joy and laughter and to raise money for a valuable and deserving cause.
