A new lake view bar with a family fun focused setting is being planned for a prime vacant block of land located on Hunt St just opposite the Yarrawonga Skate Park and Aquazone.

Owner of the land, Tony Scalzo has been determined to find the right fit for the prime location which has been sitting vacant for several years.
“I’m excited to announce this new concept which is aimed at offering something new and add additional life to our great foreshore area,” Mr Scalzo said.
“Such an asset will in turn enhance our local and visitor experience and what I believe will also help draw in new visitors to the region.”
Mr Scalzo said he wanted to get on the front foot by informing the community of the new concept prior to the new planning and building application being publicised for the 9-11 Hunt Street property.
“The application is about activating this parcel of land that I have been paying rates on into a viable business venture that I know will offer something new and add additional life to our great foreshore area.
“I have applied to utilise this site that is zoned ‘mixed use’ accordingly as a family friendly food and drinks premises offering light food options and fun times with fantastic views over our town’s greatest asset Lake Mulwala.”
Mr Scalzo said his proposed venture will employ local people and tradesman and will use local businesses for products and service where reasonable.
“The premises will need to engage plumbers, electricians, builders, cleaners for fit out of the site and ongoing maintenance. Staff will be required to assist in running of the venue day to day including wait staff and security.
“Local suppliers of fresh produce, bread, condiments, dry goods, drinks, ice etc will also need to be utilised.”
Mr Scalzo said he is passionate about the community and seeing it grow and prosper and believes this venture as only adding value to and enhancing the area.
“I trust people will support me this time in this application to activate a parcel of prime land with an exciting consumer tourist drawing proposal that will also employ and benefit local people and business,” he added.
The lake front food and beverage venture will aim to operate from Wednesday to Sunday with the following hours; Wed-Thur 5-10pm; Fri-Sat 12 noon-11pm and Sunday 12 noon-10pm.
Mr Scalzo said he welcomes the opportunity to invite any business or community member that is concerned with his application to talk with him directly.
“I firstly believe in being up front, honest and open about the application and what it offers, and secondly and probably most importantly I believe in collaboration from a business perspective and what we might be able to do together to either promote each other’s businesses,” he added.
Mr Scalzo also said that he welcomes community groups looking for other avenues such as selling raffle tickets or to promote their upcoming events and activities to share their ideas and suggestions.
