The Rennie Football Netball Club was on the road, down the Murray Valley Highway, to the home of the Bulldogs for Round 9.
Again, an opponent with whom the Hoppers were unfamiliar.
With mixed results on the scoreboard, there was nothing that could dampen the excitement and anticipation of the annual ball, which was held at Club Mulwala on Saturday night.
Rennie 48 defeated by Strathmerton 55.
With numbers back in the side this week and new recruit Tessa Sexton, the Hoppers were full of confidence.
Rennie started the game settled and kept mistakes to a minimum, and it reflected on the scoreboard.
The Hoppers best first quarter of the season.
Jedda Nolen played a smashing game in goal defense, teaming up with her sister Lexie Nolen in wing defense and Tessa in goal keeper; they held down the defense.
Nat Harris drove the centre, with Tayla Mollison providing opportunities for the goalies.
Unfortunately the last half of the game saw momentum slow, and little mistakes creep in.
A little more match fitness and team motivation and can get there.
The girls are learning every week, and gaining confidence and experience.
Awards: Yarrawonga Hotel – Lexie Nolen, Mulwala Bakery – Jedda Nolen and Balance Spin Studio – Tayla Mollison.
Rennie 45 defeated by Strathmerton 49.
The girls had an awesome start to their game and worked hard every quarter to try and break away and even the score.
The shooters worked confidently and even when things weren’t going to plan, they still worked on rebounding every opportunity.
The defense brought the ball down beautiful to the attackers, and the mid-court worked hard all day, to create space, and position well on the ring.
Rennie girls on the rise.
Awards: Yarrawonga Hotel: Georgia Hope, Wingate’s - Kristy McDougall and Judd’s Mensland - Laura Nunn.
Rennie 56 defeated Strathmerton 31.
Wow, what a game by the girls.
They burst out the gates in the first quarter all guns blazing.
Strathy never really got back in the game from then on.
All round great team effort.
Everyone tried their hardest and gave their all.
Well done everyone.
Thanks to Jasmine Burns and Celine Collins-Bye, for benching.

Rennie 23 defeated by Strathmerton 30.
Missing some of the girls, thanks to Tammy, Anika and Sophie for helping the Hoppers be able to take the court.
Ez was on target in the ring hardly missing a goal and even had a run out at goal attack to change up the attacking line.
M and M were having a great tussle against the Strathy shooters, forcing shots and grabbing a lot of possession.
Tammy was the drive through the mid-court and was assisted by Anika and Sophie who both came on to play a quarter in the centre position.
The score didn’t reflect the work the girls put in, but training is to be a priority, still to work on the little things that still aren’t clicking just yet.
Awards: Mulwala Bakery – Tammy Watson, Bella Femme Ness – Emma Chessells and Mulwala Pharmacy – Emily Stanley.
Rennie 49 defeated Strathmerton 37.
In beautiful conditions in downtown Strathy, the two undefeated teams in the Under 17s faced off and what a great match-up it proved to be.
The shooters were on song and full court pressure provided some excellent passages of play.
It was great to see Chelsea back on the court.
It was a whole team effort that resulted in a 12-goal win.
Awards: Action Bike & Ski – Brylee McCarty, Ricky Ds Pizza – Emily Coghill and Mulwala Pharmacy – Sophie James.
Rennie 46 defeated Strathmerton 9.
Again, the girls played really well as a team with all girls playing all four quarters.
Their fitness levels were really tested and at half time the team was swapped around.
It was great how all the girls adjusted and played a strong four quarters. Great win girls.
Awards: Arnold/Hall Family Award – Gaby Dowling, Judd’s Mensland – Chloe Forge and Balance Spin Studio – Charlie Hall.
Rennie 38 defeated Strathmerton 10.
A great game by all the girls.
Each one had something to work on and all achieved the daily goal.
It was a smooth game for the girls, no matter which part of the court you looked at.
The defense was strong and agile, mid court constantly ran and directed the play and the attack was flawless.
Well done girls.
Awards: La Porchetta – Grace Stephens, Courtyard Café – Ella Rhodes, Redback Waste – Sophia Shaw and McDonalds – Emily Hogan.
Excellent team work from the Under 11s this week.
The Hoppers trained hard and worked on leading and driving on the court and they certainly remembered that, come Saturday.
All the girls played a super game in all their position.
Keep up the great work, you little legends.
