100 gamer Glenn Dominick was superb down back, as he and Cameron Carling prevented Moama from scoring time and again.
12 points up at half time, all signs pointed to a big second half, yet Moama had other ideas.
Turnovers, dubious free kicks and a lack of energy conspired to put all the pressure on Mulwala as they fell behind at the last change.
Flynn Fletcher’s first possession was a beauty and helped Brad Wilson kick a crucial goal.
It was much of the same early in the last quarter as Mulwala did everything right yet failed to capitalise on their good work.
Jackson Gash was everywhere with Sean Robinson another who lifted as the game drew to its dramatic conclusion.
With the game on the line it was the speed of Lach Davis that broke the game open.
Dashing along the wing he was mumsy like as he burnt passed two opponents and delivered the ball to Beau Clarke in the goal square to steal the lead back.
Suddenly Mulwala had heroes everywhere, first Glenn Dominick and then Tim Doyle took crucial intercept marks in the backline before Hamish Hosking cemented his three votes with play of the day. His desperate smother held the ball up for the all-important stoppage on the wing and then from the ensuing ball up he took the ball out of the ruck and kicked the ball 60 meters, clearing the waiting defenders.
Lach Davis’s quick hands put Tom Dow into space and he bent the ball around his body for the winning goal.
A big challenge awaits this coming week as Mulwala take on Echuca at Lonsdale Reserve.

Corey Lindsay was at the bottom of every pack and once again endeared himself to the opposition, making several new friends.
