The new shop is the first in the South-West/Murray region and will raise funds to directly support people in the local Mulwala community.
The official opening took place on Tuesday April 9 and was blessed by Father Rick Micallef.
This new Vinnies offers a full selection of pre-loved clothing, accessories, homewares, bric-a-brac, books and toys to choose from.
Quality donations made to this new shop are greatly appreciated to support this up and coming store.
According to Vinnies Wagga Wagga Central Council Executive Officer, Mike Riley, Vinnies is part of the Australian shopping vernacular and he is excited to bring the Vinnies shopping experience of affordable and sustainable shopping to Mulwala.
“We’re very proud and excited to be opening a new Vinnies Shop in Mulwala,” Mr Riley said.
“Our customers enjoy recycled and sustainable items at a lower than retail cost.
“When shopping with Vinnies your purchase has a purpose as all funds go to people experiencing disadvantage in the local community.
“When you come into Vinnies, you make a difference to those in need, whether you’re making a purchase or donating unwanted, good quality, pre-loved goods.
“Our retail team, including staff and volunteers, have worked very hard to put together this new shop. We encourage everyone to drop in and experience it for themselves.”
Those looking to volunteer can do so for either full day or part day shifts.
Volunteering with Vinnies is a great opportunity to make friends and gain retail experience, including customer service, assisting with product display, processing sales at the register and helping to keep the store neat and tidy for a positive shopping experience.
Last year 33 per cent of the total revenue generated by the society in NSW came from Vinnies Shops, enabling the society to support Australians experiencing disadvantage in local communities.
This includes providing over $1.9 million in assistance, in the form of food vouchers, free clothing, furniture and household goods and other homelessness prevention measures across NSW.
