“This is the beginning of a new and exciting era at ClubMulwala,” ClubMulwala Chief Executive Officer Alan Rowe told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“The first stage is a $6 million redevelopment, which includes a new gaming area precinct and up to four new lounge areas.
“It’s our plan to produce a more user-friendly family orientated product for our members, to have a ‘wow’ factor.
“The next few years are going to be extremely exciting, not only for Yarrawonga Mulwala but everyone who visits our area and especially our club, for them to enjoy the new ClubMulwala.”
Chief Executive at Rubicon Design and Construct Richard Butler said the first and subsequent stages will bring the club back up to the forefront of the hospitality industry and community expectations.
“It’s not just a refurbishment. It’s a redesign of the whole business inside the four walls,” the Brisbane-based executive told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“It’s a sophisticated, contemporary décor for a top rating club. Stage one is creating a new gaming experience; additionally it’s creating new entertainment lounge areas that will appeal to all ages of people.
“We’ve looked at the needs of young people, families, women and the older die-hards – it’s appealing to everyone in the community.”
Mr Butler emphasized that very importantly was Rubicon and ClubMulwala’s Board of Directors having the community very much in mind.
“Everyone working to date is a local tradesperson,” he said.
“Ourselves and the board are doing everything to work with the local community and use contractors and supplies in Yarrawonga/Mulwala and the general area,” he said.
ClubMulwala President Des O’Meara ESM OAM said the board is very excited about the redevelopment.
“The board’s strategy includes an overhaul of the club,” he said.
“It is time to keep ClubMulwala fresh and modern, to work towards current and future trends, to give our members and guests the best facility we can, for them to enjoy.
“Each stage has something completely different on offer and we will start to see some amazing changes over the next few years which hopefully will secure the longevity of our ClubMulwala for future generations.
“We are looking at all areas of the club, from intimate lounge areas to a new deck with the best elevated views in town, to a state-of-the-art children’s area for parents and kids to enjoy whilst still feeling safe and secure.
“We want to provide a quality outlet for a quality product. Our members will reap the rewards of it, which is very exciting.”
Mr Rowe thanks ClubMulwala members for having the patience to enjoy the ride with the board of directors and staff while the renovations are happening.
“We really do appreciate everyone’s understanding, while we build them an exciting fresh ClubMulwala,” the CEO said.
