The Friday night markets down on the foreshore have proven to be an extremely popular drawcard for the towns and has been well patronised by locals and visitors alike.

It was with this in mind that Damian Cummins suggested the idea of this being the perfect way to raise funds for Sean ‘Harry’ McLarty and his family as Harry undergoes treatment for cancer.

Damian’s vision was to run a humble Sausage Sizzle stall, operated by Harry’s mates from the Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club, to raise money by offering food to the passers-by.

Last Friday night, the Sausage Sizzle stall was set up for the first time, Noelene from Party Palace generously offering their BBQ trailer and eskies free of charge, and Yarrawonga Bakery donated the bread, napkins gloves and sauce.

The Sausage Sizzle completely sold out. This success has inspired the venture to keep going and be a regular feature of the Friday Night Markets. All funds raised will help the McLarty family meet any out-of-pocket expenses and is designed to support ‘Harry.

If you’re down at the foreshore on a Friday night taking a stroll through the markets, keep an eye out for ‘The Lakers’ operating the Sausage Sizzle, just near the Paradise Queen berth, and buy a drink and a snag to help out Harry.
