The NSW Liberals and Nationals Government will invest an additional $100 million on school maintenance this year, bringing the total investment to an unprecedented $847 million over four years.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced the extra funding with education minister Rob Stokes ensuring that schools in the Albury electorate are maintained to the best standards.
Across NSW, the additional money will be allocated to schools with the highest maintenance needs and $260 million of the funding will be invested this financial year.
“This investment will ensure that every student, in every school, has an equal opportunity to achieve excellence,” Ms Berejiklian said.
Member for Albury, Greg Aplin said the additional funding announced is a huge boost locally.
“It will ensure that students and teachers can work in the best possible conditions,” Mr Aplin said.
In addition to prioritising maintenance in NSW schools, the government has also announced the first 900 schools that will receive air conditioning under its record $500 million Cooler Classrooms program.
The school maintenance allocation for schools in the Federation Council will be:
- Corowa Public School $14,639.58
- Corowa South Public School $2,786.67
- Howlong Public School $4,892.43
- Lowesdale Public School $2,946.37
- Mulwala Public School $3,342.44
- Oaklands Central School $17,674.25
- Rand Public School $11,848.57
- Savernake Public School $823.78
- Urana Public School $8,296.59
- Corowa High School $28,786.45
