The Rotary Club of Yarrawonga Mulwala are waiting for a final position for their solar powered clock that will be installed as part of Yarrawonga’s 150-year celebrations.
The club believe the clock will be installed on the Belmore Street nature strip adjacent to the Murray Valley Highway Roundabout so it can be viewed from both directions.
The Clock will be dual faced and digitalised that is reset for daylight savings etc. by GPS and it is also hoped it will eventually be synchronised with the town hall clock.
The unique clock will be solar powered to save electricity and will also show the temperature.
“We are not sure at the moment when exactly the clock will be erected as we are not going to rush it, but we are hoping for it to be around the celebrations,” Mr Cilia said.
“We are also hoping to do something once it is complete as it will be unique to the town and something for everyone.”
VicRoads are currently working with Rotary to meet safety requirements and Moira Shire for ongoing ownership.
