Moira Foodshare receives valuable donation

By Yarrawonga Chronicle

Moira Foodshare were honoured to receive a $1000 donation from the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort towards the Foodshare program from the clubs 2018 club grants donation fund.

Moira FoodShare is a community-based welfare program that people in need may access to obtain Food Hampers to help them through tough times.

The service is free and the food is donated from Foodbank Victoria (based in Melbourne), organisations in the region and individuals.

Moira FoodShare is operated by MHA Care (formerly Moira Healthcare Alliance) a not-for-profit organisation that has been providing community care services across the Moira Shire and surrounding districts for the past 19 years.

The FoodShare program supports farmers, single parent families, people who are out of work and individuals and families who are just finding the going tough from time to time.

“On behalf of YMGCR I’m very proud the club has been able to make a contribution to Moira Foodshare,” said YMGCR Vice President Laurie Bridgeman.

“Our community is not always aware there are people, when in time of need, benefit and appreciate this service provided by MHA Care.”

“On behalf of MHA Care and the people we have supported through Moira FoodShare I am pleased to accept this valuable donation from YMGCR, as without the ongoing generosity and commitment to our community from organisations like YMGCR we would not be able to provide this valuable community service.”
