“It was a great day. Everyone got plenty to eat and some nice drinks,” key volunteer and Lonsdale Reserve Committee President Rod Sissons told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.
“The two organisers Tash Russ and chef Allan Brennan were wonderful and the eight volunteers were magnificent.”
Rod expressed appreciation to the club and all sponsors for their support for the day, which was held from midday through to 4pm, in enabling such a successful and happy Christmas for so many people.
In its 2017 inaugural year, the function attracted 32 people with all attendees enjoying the atmosphere of Christmas. December 25, 2018 was also enjoyed, but by nearly three times as many people.
“People were extremely happy and new friendships were made,” Tash said.
“It was a really good community day.
“A lot of people are left home alone at that time of year and the Mulwala Football Netball Club decided to hold something for them.”
