But for Laura Connelly those popular phrases were echoed after what was going to be an ordinary day at school on Friday, February 22.
Little did anyone in her Year 7 class know that their classmate was about to receive a scholarship to the value of $1000 after her successful application to Allegro Theatre Company last December.
This is an annual scholarship offered to any present or past member of the Allegro Theatre Company and is aimed to further assist an individual in various genres such as music, theatre, dance, arts or other related arts. Laura applied in 2018 as well and was also awarded the annual scholarship.
President of the local Allegro Theatre Company Barbara Macdermid said; “Laura is a most dedicated, hardworking, committed, exciting dancer as well as young performer in the theatre”.
“She ventures as far as Melbourne on occasions and to Wangaratta three or four times a week for dancing classes including hip-hop, and goes to competitions as far away as the Gold Coast.
“A costly interest for her and for her most supportive family,” Mrs Macdermid said.
The certificate and cheque were presented to a very overwhelmed Laura at Yarrawonga P-12 College by Allegro’s Treasurer John Halfpenny.
John also spoke about past shows, Stuart Little and Beauty and the Beast, and what the scholarship was aimed at.
As an extra surprise, Laura’s mum Michelle was also able to be there for the presentation to enjoy and share in the moment. Both Laura and Michelle were very appreciative and expressed their most gratitude to Allegro.
