Locals Bernadette Skinner and Isabel Warren are to embark on a central Australia charity hike in June to raise funds for the foundation.
‘Iss’ and ‘Detta’ will walk, sometimes run, parts of the 223km Larapinta Trail east of Alice Springs and cover about 70kms over five days.
Detta and Iss will be joined by Iss’s daughter, 21-year-old Elli in central Australia. But, the trip must qualify beforehand by the raising of $10,500 which would all go to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
“We have to meet our target. We are committed to raising $10,500 and we would be most grateful for any donations,” Iss said.
So, if you haven’t already, book in for a game of golf on Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort’s Blue Nine course. It will be a shotgun start and the $25 fee for members and $40 for non-members will include a barbecue meal. Ring Pro Shop 57443983 for bookings.
Another fundraiser to keep in mind is a High Tea on Mother’s Day, May 5 at Belle’s Café.
Monetary donations would be gratefully received by the three hikers. See their link
