That’s because of its second annual fundraising golf day last Sunday where 54 golfers played on Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort’s Murray Course.
“It’s so lovely the club supports us. We are raising money to buy new beds,” Co-Chair of Helping Hands Vivian Spilva told golfers.
“We need 100 beds. We’ve purchased 25 already.”
Co-Chair Andrew Shell explained the new beds “cost just under $4,000 each”.
“We’re well on the way towards purchasing another 25 beds and hope to have the new beds very soon,” he added.
Established by the Yarrawonga Health Board on July 27, 2016, Helping Hands appreciated the support of all in making this year’s charity golf day a success.
After the golf, club resort vice-president Laurie Bridgeman welcomed everyone and thanked all participants. He said the charity Helping Hands golf day was one of the most-worthy causes hosted by the club.
“There were some great scores today, the winners being Tim Cooper (off 17) and Lisa Weir (45) with a score of 51 points,” Mr Bridgeman said.
Lisa also featured in the runners-up, with 48 points, playing as a swinger partner, with husband Simon (30 handicap). Balls went to 39 points.
