A Grade
Rennie 58 defeated Mathoura 26
Rennie A grade had a solid win over Mathoura. The girls dominated both ends right from the beginning of the game and it showed on the scoreboard.
Excellent defensive efforts all over the court created a heap of pressure, leading to lots of scoring opportunities for the goalers, who stood up well against a physical defense.
The girls were patient in attack with very few unforced errors and moved the ball well.
This win moves the Hoppers into the top 8, and hopefully Rennie can continue the good form going forward. Awards: Burke’s Hotel – Eliza Strawhorn, Lake Mulwala Bakery – Tessa Sexton, and Bella Pelle – Maddie McInness.
B Grade
Rennie 49 defeated Mathoura 39
Third placed Rennie went head to head with Fourth placed Mathoura. Great contesting the ball from both teams but Rennie’s play was settled in the attack end and made clear decisions with the ball.
The full court “press” is a key element to the Hoppers game and girls have worked hard at this at training and game day.
The defence end got lots of rebounds and great hands around the ring.
The coaches thank two juniors Catherine Shaw and Maddy Phibbs; you work hard each week at training and your support and encouragement on the sideline has not gone unnoticed.
A great team win, looking forward to see what the team can achieve.

Another good win for the C res girls. This week missing Jaz and Tanya made way for Brooke McDougall to make her long awaited come back after a knee injury two years ago.
The girls made a strong start but Mathoura came out putting a lot of pressure on the court.
The second quarter saw Tegan come out firing, running free and driving into the ring getting plenty of ball and shooting accurately.
As always the defenders worked hard and there was plenty of run in the mid court.
The third quarter saw the Hoppers fall off a bit but the girls were able to settle and finish off the last quarter back in control.
Keep up the hard work girls.

Rennie 44 defeated Mathoura 10
What a great game from all the girls. Coach Brooke could not fault the way the girls played. It was a full team game, with shooters accuracy at close to 100%, and the defensive pressure throughout the entire court at a level beyond their years.
The girls showed that having fun whilst playing the game is possible and you can take away the win too. Awards this week were sponsored by Avalanche Icecreamery, and all girls received an award for their team effort and resilience.
Bring on next week.
Under 11s
With only 9 girls this week for Rennie Under 11s, this made life easy for coach Miss K but meant the girls had less bench time and more court time.
Running out 8 sets of 6 minutes, Rennie Hopperettes showed great fitness.
The Hoppers had lots of attempts at goal, and in defence the girls kept the ball from hitting in the ring.
Well done to the girls who also played at the Yarrawonga Junior Carnival on the Sunday.
Awards: RRR Canteen Voucher – Charlotte Burrows, Courtyard Cafe – Lucy Judd and McDonald’s – Mia Brogan.
