After an extended Christmas break this year Wilby and District tennis association kicked off again over the weekend.

Tungamah vs Savernake: Savernake travelled out to Tungamah on Friday night and in perfect conditions for tennis there were some great matches played. The men were very close with Tungamah winning 4 sets to Savernake’s 2 and taking the points 30 games to 26. The women were a little more lop sided with Tungamah winning all bar 1 set and extending the home sides margin by 21 games 33 to 12. The mixed was also tight with both teams winning 2 sets. Tungamah was able to get the points by 4 games and ended the night on 11 sets, 82 games, 8 points to Savernake 5 sets 53 games 0 points.

Yarrawonga vs Mul Maroon: YLTC hosted Mul Maroon also on Friday night and the home side was pretty dominant. They won 5 out of the 6 mens sets to open up a 14 game lead 34 to 20. The ladies were also one sided with Yarra winning all 6 sets, getting the points 36 to 14.  The mixed was more of the same with Yarra winning 3 out of the 4 sets to take the points and the win 14 sets, 89 games 8 points to Mul 2 sets 46 games 0 points.

Wilby vs Telford: Wilby hosted Telford in the other match but the scribe didn’t receive the results before the article was written.
