Golf’s $3500 for Godfathers

Community activities including junior sport receive such a boost from our 1973-established Godfathers Group.

The group’s big golf day at Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort, raised $3500 last Sunday.

“The community has received great support from this wonderful charity,” club president Gil Cunningham told the big audience after the 18-hole stableford event.

“Congratulations to all the work you put in. It gives me much pleasure in handing over a cheque for $3500.”

Godfathers President Graham Wilson expressed a big thank you to the golf club resort and appreciation to the exactly 100 golfers, 33 female and 67 male players who took to the Lake Course on Sunday.

“It’s really great the community getting behind our one big fundraising day for the year,” he said. “I thank the golf club who have been behind us for 46 years.

“I thank my fellow Godfathers. It’s a well-oiled machine with some A-Grade organisers.”

All the sponsors were named and thanked by Mr Wilson “for enabling our big day to be successful”.
