Wodonga 32 defeated by Yarrawonga 78.
This game was a very dominant display by the Pigeon’s A-graders, who are beginning to really nail the combinations throughout the court in preparation for finals.
From the opening pass it was a fantastic team effort by all players who took the court, with minimal errors and multiple turnovers being converted into a very impressive scoreline.
Inspirational young gun Indi Fraunfelder was best on court, with strong hands and accurate shooting seeing her sink 19 goals from 21 attempts (90%), which was a great addition to Elle Brooks’ 59-goal haul.
Bec Carlyle was ever-reliable in defence, and her leadership is an incredible asset to this team.
All players contributed to this one, great to see this team maintaining momentum at the right time of the year.

B Grade
Wodonga 31 defeated by Yarrawonga 86.
In this top versus bottom of the ladder clash, the B-graders were always going to go into the game with confidence, and the score line of this match certainly did not disappoint.
From the first whistle the Yarra girls combined well across the court, to see them leading by 12 goals at the first break.
The defensive end stepped it up even further in the second, restricting the Bulldogs goalers to just 3 goals for the quarter in a very impressive display.
The entire team continued to provide the attack with the lead taken by best on courts Laura Gorman and Kait Cummins and the conversion of scoring opportunities saw them produce a great percentage boosting win.
Co-coach Bridget Cassar was dominant in goals, sinking 42 from 47 at an accurate 89%.
A great opportunity to work on different combinations for finals and a very impressive win.

C Grade
Wodonga 19 defeated by Yarrawonga 87.
The C graders came out extremely strong this week and it was great to have the assistance of three under 16s join the team.
From the first whistle there were fantastic passages of play across the court from attack to defence, with all players exerting their dominance against their opponents.
Best on court Meg Bonat was instrumental through the midcourt, providing drive and leadership and first-gamer Georgie Hemphill’s enthusiasm was a strength for the entire team.
Sharp-shooting Eliza York shot an incredible 76 goals from 85 attempts at 89% for the game, seeing her season tally surpass 500 goals so far, an incredible effort by a first-year senior player.
A great win to head towards finals.

Under 16s
Wodonga 48 defeated Yarrawonga 33.
The youngest Pigeon’s netballers came out of the blocks strong during this game, with confidence from their first win last week seeing them equal with the third-placed Bulldogs at quarter time at 10 goals each.
This momentum was maintained through to half time, with effective passing and strong passages of play by all team members and especially best on court Chloe Wheaton and Eliana Martin.
A bit of a lapse in the third saw the Wodonga girls dominate this term by 10 goals, however it was good to see the Pigeons fight back in the final quarter and certainly brought a good challenge to their opponents.
