The Yarrawonga Pigeons Youth Girls came away with a convincing win on Sunday defeating Wangaratta Rovers by 140 points at the JC Lowe Oval.
After weeks of improvement and a couple of close games the girls were determined to come away with a strong win on home soil.
An all-round team performance proved the difference with all the girls contributing to a convincing win.
In the centre Evita Williams, Annie Robilliard, Tayla Sampson and Ava Loughnan were winning the ball and clearing into the forward line.
Up forward a career best performance of eight goals by Tahlia Newnham was a highlight. Brooke Fitzpatrick and Charlie Hall were also in the thick of the action bagging three goals apiece.
Dakarrah Wihitworth and Josie Paessens provided a great target as the girls kept piling on the goals.
Ruby Kennedy and Gabby Murray were getting plenty of the ball, supported by good centre clearances:
Phoebe Jarrad, Amelia Sissons and Trinny Preer continued their improvement with some great contributions and contests. Freya Fletcher was also playing well before coming off with a minor knee injury.
The girls will now travel to Thurgoona this weekend to play the Bulldogs with the game starting at 11.30am.
