The weather turned up, new events attracted members of the community and tourists alike and children of all ages combined to make this year’s show a great success on the last Friday and Saturday of the Victorian school holidays.
“We would like to send out a huge thank you to all involved in a wonderful couple of days of entertainment for all age groups,” Yarrawonga and Border Show Secretary Sue Jackson said.
A big hit with the young and old were the Woodchoppers, Wild Action Zoo and Tractor - Pull.
An animal nursery, children’s pavilion, Miss ShowGirl, Dress up parade, pet, bike and scooter parades also entertained the children.
“We had horses, sheep, poultry and dog competitions. Wool, cake, preserves, floral, needlecraft, arts and crafts, lego, duplo and photography competitions on display and it was wonderful to see the delight on the faces of the winners,” Ms Jackson said.
“The Grand Parade with all its different shapes, sizes and noises were brilliant and the night finished with children dancing to the sound of Andrew Wishart and then a dazzling display from the ClubMulwala fireworks.”
Some of the community groups who participated in this year’s show success included the SES, Fire Brigade, Lionesses, Men’s Shed, Lions, Ignite Church and the Garden Club.
“To our sponsors and showman’s guild, a big thanks,” Ms Jackson said.
“To our exhibitors, stewards, judegs and general community who came along for a great days entertainment a big thank you.
“We are delighted with this year’s show and we have already begun talking about next year.
