APPLICATIONS for the Youngcare At Home Care Grants in Victoria are now open.
Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh encouraged families and service providers who are caring at home for a young person with high care needs to look at this funding opportunity.
Mr Walsh said Youngcare’s At Home Care Grants (AHCG) provide funding for equipment, home modifications and essential support/respite to enhance the quality of life for people aged 18-65 with high care needs, and their carers.
He said funding of $2000-$10,000 was designed to enable young people with high care needs to remain at home and avoid entering inappropriate housing.
“Examples of grants that have been approved include applications for respite care, ceiling hoists, a water-powered hydraulic lift, in-home support, a wheelchair ramp, air conditioning, power wheelchair, pressure cushion and electrical adjustable beds to name a few,” Mr Walsh said.
“It is important to note that individuals without NDIS funding can apply.”
Applications close on March 13. For details email [email protected] or phone 1800 844 727.
