Cobram Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the theft of more sheep on local farms this time around Bathumi.
Two farmers had a total of 90 sheep stolen from their farms in February. A total of 60 head were stolen from a Keenans Road property and another 30 from a neighbouring property in Flanagans Road east of Yarrawonga. The sheep were part of large flocks and fencing was intact.
The thefts come after more than 150 sheep were stolen from a property near Tungamah late last year.
A total of 181 Suffolk/Merino cross lambs were discovered missing from the Lawrence Road property sometime between September and December 20, 2018. The sheep, which were part of a larger flock had been in the vicinity of Youarang, Walden and School Roads.

Mulwala fires
Two fires flared in McCarthy Street and Spring Drive on Monday afternoon but were quickly brought under control.
Local fire crews are unsure the cause of a blaze on McCarthy Street at the entrance to the industrial estate but were assisted by earthmoving contractors working close to the site who began to extinguish the fire before Fire Rescue NSW attended and quickly got the fire under control.
A second fire along Spring Drive, several hundred metres east of DC on the Lake was ignited by an electrical wire with local Rural Fire Services attending and extinguishing the blaze swiftly.
