Local sporting clubs will be able to purchase defibrillators due to half a million dollars in funding being available to local sports clubs as part of the NSW Government’s Local Sport Defibrillator Grant Program.

Member for Albury, Greg Aplin said the funding was announced as part of round three of the NSW Government’s four-year, $4 million program.
“Sport is a vital part of our community,” Mr Aplin said.
“The Local Sport Defibrillators Grant Program helps sports organisations to purchase Automated External Defibrillators (AED) which can be used to respond to cardiac emergencies.
“It’s critical that our local sport and recreation facilities are equipped with this life-saving equipment and I urge local sports organisations to apply for funding in the current round.”
Eligible sports clubs and organisations can receive between $1250 and $1900 in funds towards the cost of a defibrillator.
Since the commencement of the program in 2017, the NSW Government has committed to provide $985,000 to sport and recreation facilities to assist with the purchase of 780 defibrillators.
Applications close May, 6 2019.
Sport clubs are encouraged to apply as soon as possible for the best chance of securing a grant.
