Playing against the Barooga Cricket Club at Stan Hargreaves Oval in Yarrawonga, the Lakers scored a 59-run victory in the Annual T20 match.
Yarrawonga Mulwala batted first, and Ben Irvine blasted the attack to all parts of the ground scoring 92 including 9 fours and 4 sixes.
Irvine batted from the start of play until being run out in the 18th over.
A shared partnership with Brendan Lewis (36 not out) yielded 75 runs; with Lewis second top scorer.
Number 3 batsman Josh Lawrence hit 25 in quick time in a team total of 4 for 177 at completion of their 20 overs.
With the ball and in the field the Lakers took complete control with Will Sharp claiming a wicket with the first ball of the Barooga innings.
Sharp also claimed the second wicket with a classy run out and from that point Barooga never got into the game.
Bowling great areas, Sharp finished with 3 for 12 from his four overs; Jack Kennedy in his A Grade debut chimed in with 3 for 41 from spin; while Angus Heslin conceded just 3 runs from two overs.
McIntosh 1 for 16 and Bartlett 1 for 13 were the other wicket takers for the Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club.
Barooga finished 9 for 118 off their allotted 20 overs.
Man of the Match honours were awarded to Ben Irvine for his 92 runs.
The CMCU Challenge Cup was awarded to YMCC Captain Reid Clarke who thanked the Central Murray Credit Union for their continued sponsorship of both Yarrawonga Mulwala Cricket Club and Barooga Cricket Club.
