It is also the venue for dinner with special guest speaker Bob Murray, presentation of trophies and a gala event with wonderful sporting memorabilia to go under the hammer.
A 4BBB Medley will be played on Monday, a 4-Person Aggregate (2 best scores to count) on Tuesday and on Wednesday, a 4-Person Drop Out Ambrose will end the fun three days.
Locals are welcome to play and dine or participate in just one. You don’t have to play if you want to attend the dinner and bid for the wide range of sporting memorabilia.
Special guest speaker Bob Murray is the St Kilda football legend and 1966 premiership footballer. Murray starred at full-back, taking a crucial mark with just seconds left in the one-point victory over Collingwood.
The recently turned 77-year-old played 153 games with the Saints. Bob represented Victorian eight times, from 1967 to 1970, was acknowledged as the best full-back in Australia at the time and won St Kilda’s best and fairest in 1969.
Also in attendance will be Hawthorn legend Michael Tuck who appeared in seven consecutive grand-finals for the Hawks from 1983 to 1989.
He took over the role of captain following the retirement of Leigh Matthews in 1986. Tuck’s record is sensational: most senior games with Hawthorn (426), most finals (39), All-Australian 1973, 1983, twice league Team of the Year 1983, 1990 and Hawthorn Team of the Century.
Book in at the Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort Pro Shop (5744 3983) for your game or at reception (5744 1911) for dinner on Wednesday, June 5.
“It’s a worthy cause and the dinner/auction is excellent,” Pro Shop head Evan Droop said.
