Thirty years on, wonderful memories will come flooding back this Saturday when many of the people involved in the 1989 Yarrawonga football premiership will have a reunion over lunch before the Pigeons host Lavington.

“Anyone from that year – all the playing group, runners, trainers, ladies committee – is invited,” organiser and centre-half-forward Matt Holgate said.
“The 1988 reserves premiers, the 1959 premiership players, supporters those days – all are invited.”
The luncheon will be a 11.30am meet for 12 noon start. There will be a two-course luncheon, $20 per person payable on the day, with drinks at bar prices.
It will be a most memorable day - a casserole dinner will be available after the game.
Two most interesting speeches will be delivered, from Chris McNamara and Damien Sexton.
“They will be great speeches and it will be great seeing everyone Saturday. We hope as many as possible can make it. It will be special,” co-organiser Russ Ednie said.
