The Melbourne Renegades legspinner created history on Wednesday when he ran through the Sydney Thunder's top-order, taking his four wickets across two overs.
He first removed Alex Hales when he beat the Englishman for flight and had him caught for 44.
Jason Sangha was then stumped and Boyce trapped Alex Ross and Daniel Sams lbw.
Boyce's dismissal of Ross made him the eighth player in BBL history to take a hat-trick, before Sam's demise made him the first to claim four in a row.
Boyce played seven T20s for Australia between 2014 and 2016, but lost his spot on the eve of the the 2016 World Cup.
He then missed last year's entire BBL and went without a contract this summer after injuries and medical issues.
But he was called up when the Renegades were struggling for players earlier this season, taking wickets in each of his four games.
