But Hinkley is distancing himself from the Power's pre-trade period dealings, and the future of former captain Travis Boak, amid Port's finals campaign.
Geelong's Esava Ratugolea, Essendon's Brandon Zerk-Thatcher and Jordon Sweet from the Western Bulldogs have all told their clubs they want to join Port when the official trade period begins on October 9.
"It's not my my job this week to be focusing on it," Hinkley told reporters on the eve of his club's semi-final against Greater Western Sydney.
"My job is to really focus on a performance from the football side to try and get a win.
"(List manager) Jason (Cripps) and his team are really strong on managing our list profile.
"And if that means people want to come and play for us, we're doing something OK.
"But tomorrow we need to do something better than OK."
Port's former skipper Boak will play his 348th AFL game in Saturday night's cut-throat final against the Giants.
Hinkley refused to be drawn on the 35-year-old's future beyond the finals.
"I expect him to play really well in this game and outside that, they're decisions that will be talked about later on," he said.
"All the list management stuff, for the last time, will get taken care of by Jason Cripps ... that's his job.
"My job is to really focus in on a final and get Travis and every other player playing at their best for tomorrow night."
The requests of Ratugolea, who Port unsuccessfully chased in last year's trade period, and Zerk-Thatcher come as the Power seek to bolster their tall defensive stocks.
While 32-year-old fullback Trent McKenzie has signed a contract for next season, captain and key backman Tom Jonas, unlikely to return from a calf injury, will retire at season's end.
And fellow tall defender Tom Clurey's future remains uncertain after a year when he managed just one game, in round three, before suffering a season-ending back injury.
Sweet's request to move to Port also casts doubt on Scott Lycett's future at Alberton.
The 30-year-old ruckman will play against the Giants but has managed only 17 games in the past two years due to a range of injuries - his contract expires at the end of the season.
Port also met with Melbourne ruck Brodie Grundy, who is believed to have chosen the Sydney Swans as his preferred destination next year.
